Starvation Ghost Ranch

Project Description

This vacation home in New Mexico was for clients living in Southern California.  The majority of the design process took place in Southern California with regular trips to the job site for consultations with the contractor and local trades.

We created a compound for family gatherings with a main house, 2 casitas and a garage/shop/bunkhouse.  I collaborated with the client’s architect, Caroline Dooley, and contractor, Tyaga Baker, on all finishes and details….from initial concept to selection of dishes and linens.  The result was an authentic New Mexican adobe home that seemed to have evolved over time.

The authentic feel was created using adobe bricks, earthen floors, hand plastered walls, custom tiles and tile layouts, and reclaimed wood.
